I got my dedicated spikes upper last night. I ordered 02/14/08 and after some delays and other problems i was excited when i got it. Everything looked fine and dandy but when i opened the box and pulled out my upper it looked like someone dropp and then kicked my YHM lightweight rails. Anyone else ever have quality control issues with spikes? the upper itself is really nice. The new bolts also look great. I am just way disappointed about the QC on the rail. other than that was a good expirence. Should i call spikes? or should i just not worry about it? thanks

I would call Spikes, I have not dealt with them but every thing I hear about them are good things.

Dont take this the wrong way, but I would have contacted them prior to posting. I'm sure they would have made it right. they're trying to get these out asap and something may have slipped through.

+1  Everyone makes a mistake once in awhile, it is how they handle it afterward that counts.  I have heard that Spike's is very customer friendly, and would bet they will make this right for you.

I have called them many times since i placed my order. All i get is the british girl answering machine. I know Spikes will make it right. I also know 100% they will stand behind there product. My intent was to find out if anyone recently was having other quality control issues

it didn't happen during shipping, i know it was packed rather well. ONCE AGAIN I KNOW Spikes WILL TAKE CARE OF IT!

If you get the machine make sure you leave a message, they will call you back. I received a call at 7 at night! Which is good cause they care and are getting back to their customers even if it means some overtime for them.

I have also left a message in the past and was always called back within 24 hours. My upper is in transit and I cant say enough about the spikes team. They have been an outstanding company/people to deal with.

do you mean they just got smacked around during shipping? If this is a shipping, wrapping issue I'd move it to feedback.

My upper was perfect when I got it.  

The packing was the best I have ever seen from any company.

I have never gotten an answer machine when I called Spikes during working hours.

Why don't you post a pick of the supposed damage after you call Spikes....

Hey guys, why don't we put down the Spike's Koolaide and give the OP a break.  The fact is that as good of a company as Spike's Tactical is, they were WA-A-AY behind on their orders because of that prick JAC.  In the mad rush to get these guns out the door, there were bound to be a few QC issues; nobody's perfect.  The measure of a company is what they do about the problems.

When I finally received my upper, it had the wrong handguards, and a front sight crooked enough to make Bushmaster proud.  The front sight was attached with set screws, so that was an easy fix, and they sent me out the right set of handguards.  

Am I happy with my purchase?

HELL YEAH.

Rest assured, Spike's will take care of any issues you may have.

It's a legitamate question. Mine was perfect when it came. The guys were working 18 hour days. It's not unreasonable to think a bad part could have been missed. What I do know without a doubt is Spikes will take care of it. IM badazzar. Tom will take care of it.

I check each and every rail, barrel, and bolt during instulation, chances are it was damaged during shipping. Send the upper back and Ill get it switched out the same day I reveive it so I can get it back to you asap. Sorry about the Issues, Im sure you were bummed after the long waiting period.

My box was destroyed by UPS, but my stuff turned out looking good.  I just have to get it to run 100% and I'll be way excited!  Here are the pics of how UPS feels about your packages.


I was a little bummed too after waiting since early February to have to wait even longer because of a late delivery only to get my package looking like this.  It wasn't Spikes fault, but shit happens.
