I had bought a few boxes of this stuff on clearance before I was warned by ARFCOM members that it might be out of spec.

I fired about 60 rd of it before I started experiencing failures to feed with my Ciener kit. The Ciener unit runs flawlessly with Wal-Mart Federal .22LR (load 750) and my BDM 30rd skinny mags. With the Rem, it was running smoothly for a few mags before I started getting FTFeeds. The bullet nose would sort of get squished sideways, bending the case. In one instance, I manually forced a case into the chamber and it fired/extracted without any problems. I think the Ciener was getting too dirty, but Federal was running smoothly even after the Golden Bullets started to jam.

Is there any way I can still run that Golden Bullet ammo in my Ciener? Should I just clean it at the range? Once I burn through the boxes I'll just stick to the Federal.

Stick to the Federal. I can't get golden bullets to work in my dedicated 22lr upper. Unlike most, mine does like Remington thunderbolts. 22's are picky about ammo they all like different stuff.

golden bullets are known to be out of spec and to be problematic with ciener kits.

use federal bulk pack ammo for cheap plinking.

What should I do with the existing Golden Bullets? Toss them out?

Use'em in a .22 that is more forgiving of their issues, my Ruger MkII loves them but my Ceiner hates them.

I also bought up a few bricks of the GB. It didn't run well in my m261 and had an out of battery in a Savage 6a that never experienced any problems before.

My remaining GB has been relegated to manually operated actions only.

The remington GBs will not run in my Ceiner Kit - regardless of cleanliness. The Federals run great in my Ceiner.
My Adavantage Arms kit runs great on Rem GB , but won't run on Federals.

CCI Mini-Mags 40gr run well in both , but are pricey.

Now I need to buy two bulk cheap .22 , or just pony up for the good CCIs.
Oh , well , it's still very affordable compared with full power ammo....

If you have a 10/22, use them in that. If not, give them away, stick with the Federal bulk.

I have a '71 10/22 that will run them. I've seen newer 10/22s that would not. YMMV.

If you decide to give them away, put me on the list

Marlin 39 and Single Six don't seem to care

Damn, I don't have a 10/22. Where is the GB out-of-spec? The case diameter? Bullet diameter?

My WASR22 actually runs great  with Rem. GB. The Fed. bulk pack I run in my Ceiner is too weak for the WASR.

My Ruger MkII (MK512) hates Remington Golden, but my Walther P22 and Sig Mosquito like it pretty well.

The other alternative is a .22 revolver.  I have yet to find a round that any of mine won't touch off.

I have exactly the same issues.

I don't think they are "out of spec" . Most every ammo mfg has different ideas about how the bullet should be shaped and what to lube it with . Cost of the manufacturing bends some of these rules also. Different guns (sometimes the same make and model) will run poorly or well on different ammo or even different lots of the same ammo.
The problem I had with some lots of the rem Golden bulk was that the primer was not uniform and ignition was not uniform or reliable
The key to rimfire ammo is to try it all and when you find something that works for you just buy all that you can find.(Not boxes or bricks, cases of it) The sure thing about 22 rimfire is that it will go up in price and whoever is making it will change it!

I have several cases each of Wolf MT and PMC Zapper that I paid $185 and $165 each for delivered. wish I had bought 5 cases each instead of 2. By the time I run out of all the rimfire I have stockpiled it is going to cost me $50 a brick to get something usable!

I find the GB bullet diameter too large (the lead part) which causes the rounds not to fully chamber. i.e. the bolt does not go all the way forward in semi auto or chambering the first round in a Ciener.
Sometimes its close (small gap) but not quite closed, causing a light primer strike.

Interestingly, they are the ammo of choice (recommended and in use) for the Advantage Arms Glock conversions.

On a similar note, the UMC Rem 9mm are known to be weak, and their .223 prints 3x the group size as comparably priced Federal in my Oly Ultramatchl. Not looking for target grade, but come on, 3x group size for comparable prices ammop...WTF.

I now avoid all UMC/Rem ammo until they get their stuff together!

Remington GB has just been inconsistant in the feeding and extracting department in my semi's.  I am stuck with a few thousand rounds that I bought on sale at Cabela's unless I put it through a bolt or lever gun.  My 10/22's hate the stuff.

My Ciener runs fine on the Golden Bullets.

yep mine will run on anything strong enough to cycle a simi auto.

My Ciener cycles the Golden Bullets just fine, its just that most of the Golden Bullets won't feed properly even when I manually rack the charging handle. It's *possible* that the Ciener chamber is just dirty, but it seems like they're a hit and miss brand of ammo.

Agreed.  When you buy a case all the ammo will be from the same lot.

I've gone through several GB valuepacks without many problems.  Then I opened the box I have in the rangebag now, and have several problems in the same mag.

Its from a different lot than what I've been shooting.  IMO that lot sucks.  The previous lot I was shooting from ran great.

CCI minimags ran great in everything I've shot them in.  They damn well better too, 200 rounds of minimags cost as much as a 550 valuepack (last time I got ammo anyway).
