I am planning on getting a drop in kit, but i am worried about whether or not shooting 22lr out of my 223/556 upper will foul my gas tube at all? can anybody help me out here? i would really rather not have to buy a seperate upper.

at the end of the day clean the barrel then put a 556 down the pipe .... it will blow the majority of shit out the gas tube ... and if you are that worried about it change the gas tube out every 6 months or so ... they are cheap

i have an old a1 upper with a ceiner. i have had no problems shooting 1000s of 22lr then shooting some 223. often i take two uppers to the range and swap bcg/ceiner back and forth with no issues.
