So i want to build a 9mm AR SBR, and really like the look of a kitty kat upper with no fancy rails or anything. Any one know who might make them?  I would like it to be a colt platform if possible.  I already checked garrison and they said
height=8
We currently don't carry the 7 1/2" barrels. We do carry the 11 1/2" and 16" barrels. We have shied away from 7 1/2" 9mm barrels because people try running a heavy sub sonic bullet through 7 1/2" of 1/10 twist barrel with the longest suppressor that they can find. That gives rise to baffle strikes. If you have any other questions feel free to contact us.

if this is true, how come there are so many integrally suppressed uppers with shorter barrel lengths?  Any one have any problems like this?

I picked up a 5" Jarvis barrel from Spike's Tactical, he can do what ever length you want. You can send a 16" RRA barrel to ADCO and they can chop it. Noveske also did a small run of custom 9mm barrels. Tros has a short 3 lug barrel sometimes hard to find though.

HUH? I run a 7.5" upper with SWR Trident-9 and as off today 800 rounds of 9mm 147g sub sonic through it with no problem with baffle strike.

Get intouch with Model1sales they have 7.5" upper instock

I've heard of concerns about the possibility of baffle strikes with a 7.5" 5.56 barrel, but this is the first I've heard of it with 9mm.  I guess all those manufacturers of suppressors, for use on 4" to 5" barreled 9mm handguns, are just covered up with repair work.

The main concern is not with professionally checked out systems but with people who don't understand bore alignment. As a small manufacturer I'm not willing to be sued because somebody didn't take the time to check the squareness of their weapon. I constantly have people run ideas by me that are unsafe and dangerous. The best question is "do I really need to check headspace?". I sleep alot better just avoiding some potential problems. Most of us are not firearm engineers and the potential for serious injury is high if you don't know what you are doing. Just because two pieces of equipment screw together doesn't make it right.
