Right now my .45ACP barrel is 10.5" but I just recieved my TROS USA new .45ACP SMG can (it is QUIET btw), so I want to cut it down and recess the can inside the rail system.  Anyway, what is the shortest length I should go for decent groupings at 25 yards?

Since a 1911 will shoot a tight group at 25yds with a 5" barrel I don't know why an AR wouldn't do the same.

I would have it shortened to 5-6 inches.

My 9mm AR has a 5" Tros barrel on it.

I have a 5" on my cav 15 and a 10" waiting for an ar45.

I like the idea of shooting it without the can if I want to so the 5" will be collecting dust once the 10" is complete. BTW  5" is more than accurate enough.

Thanks.  I was planning on 5", but wanted to run it by the hive mind first.

Got any info and pics of this?

Not yet as it is still at my dealers.  The can is so new that Mark doesn't even have any pics on his website about it.  If I can remember, I will take my digi with me to my dealer so I can snap a pic or two.

Mine will look like Monoskier's tan one, but I'm using the even shorter Vltor VIS-1. I'm going to chop mine at about 7.5" or so, leaving just enough barrel out the end of the rail to fit my suppressor, giving it that SD look when attached. I'm also going to get a .45 A2 FH from KKF for when I shoot it w/o the can. Sometimes, you just gotta be loud, ya know?.
Sorry, no pics yet.
