I anyone having feeding problems with TCHP for the AR9mm? I'm using 124 gr and every other one will jam. No problem with FMJ in 115gr or 124gr. Also HP's in 115 do fine. The 124 TCHP seem to jam on the edge of the chamber.

I reload my own so I thought I was hip with all the jive. What exactly is TCHP?

Truncated Cone Hollow Point

My educated guess... is that your feedramp may be a hair too low (if it is an adjustable type). If your running a Colt block that's pinned in, you may not be able to use the 124 TCHP due to the wider face of the bullet tip. Get out your calipers and take a measurement of the tip of the 115 and the 124... I suspect this will be your problem - that the tip of the bullet is not tapered enough to feed into the chamber

I am using Hornady 121 gr HAP TCHPs in my 9mm AR and they feed extremely well.  I also use125 gr cast lead TCs with no problem at all, as a matter of fact TC's are the most reliable in all of my 9's pistols and rifles.  Are you reloading or are you using commercial ammo?  What type of mag block and what mags are you using.

TC's are Truncated Cones.

These are Rainer 124gr and a Hans block with Uzi mags.

If you want optimal feeding and performance you have to use Colt mags.  Uzi mags come in various shapes and sizes depending on the manufacturer.  The best Israeli mags can only be reliable to a point (with ARs) but they are no substitute for Colts and that is IF they are properly modified.  Refer to the Hahn website for the dimensions of a modified mag.  A Dremel tool and a pencil is NOT a substitute for a mill and a digital read out.

Nonsense! I once MADE a mill with a digital read-out, using only a Dremel tool, and a pencil! hough,
If you go whacking a 1/2" chunk out of the mag body... naturally, I would not expect it to feed well. hipping
Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm the newbie who doesn't know shit... Flame on!

What is the OAL of your loaded rounds?  If they are under 1.160, you might increase the OAL upto 1.169 and see if that helps.  I had a problem with feeding one brand of 125gr LRN's, and I increased the OAL about .025" and they fed perfectly.  I have an RRA type block,  and I initially had to play with the positioning, to get it to work with all mags.  I have not used a Hahn block, so I dont know if you can raise or lower them like my RRA block.  Also have you tried any other type of mags?  I have a friend who also has a 9mm and he said his UZI mags  would ony feed Jacket RN's.  I use Cproducts and Pro Mags and both feed everything I put in them.

Everthing else works fine the only problems are these trunacated ones. I'm going to try and change the OAL and see what effect that will have.

Personally, I'm not going to pay someone $8+shipping to modify a $4 magazine.

Mags are significantly more than $4 now.  Where can I get the mod done for $8?

Replaced the Mag with the C-Products mag and the problem is gone
