The dipshits at USPS lost the mag I ordered in Dec. I talked to Racheal, I believe, and she promptly sent out another. I just received the replacement not 15 minutes ago and ran a full mag of Federal bulk through it in my back yard. It functioned flawlessly.
Great company and great product. I will be buying several more once funds allow. Thank you all at BDM. I can finally afford to take my AR to the range without dealing with the frustration of Ciener 10 round mags.

Had some issues with the new Ceiner .22 conversion unit and a couple of new Black Dog magazines yesterday. Multiple/regular failures to fire due to the bolt not closing completely and fairly often failures to extract.
The Ceiner 10 rnd. magazine worked fine. With the Black Dog magazines in the rifle the bolt was dragging on something (had to force the bolt closed with my thumb quite often). With no magazine the bolt would go fully forward everytime it was released. We got to looking at the Ceiner conversion unit and the Black Dog magazines and noticed the way the bolt was made. There cuts on either side of the bottom of the bolt that allow space for the feed lips on the magazine are not cut to a uniform depth up into the bottom of the bolt. The right side cut is shallower. I took a pocket knife and scraped some of the plastic of the top of the Black Dog magazine and tried it. Still had some drag. I cycled the magazine through the scraping and testing and eventually there was no drag and the Ceiner unit would empty the magazine with no malfuntions. I repeated the process on the second magazine and it now works as well as the first magazine. If you have a similar problem this might work for you but go slow and realize if you take too much off you may damage the magazine to the point it won't feed properly.

| Tried the BD mag in my Ciener set up. Follower would hang up on last 2 rounds. Almost like not enough spring tension. Ciener 10 round runs flawlessly. Also, FYI, bought 2 firing pins from BD, 1 was too thick to fit in bolt, the other fit, but could not get unit to fire. Discovered the 2nd pin was too short as compared to stock pin. Since then, bought a couple of pins from Kuehl; they operate flawlessly. |
I have 6 BDMs and one (smoke colored) broke on the feed lips. I did not expose the mag to any solvents or drop them on the feedlips. This happened at an indoor range. The mags were sitting in my car for about 4 hours in 25 degree weather before I went to the range. Weird that only one out of he six broke.

You sent me a replacement skinny body mag a while back to replace one that was cracking. The replacement has such an anemic spring that it won't feed unless the magazine is totally full. Even then it only feeds a couple of rounds. I haven't received any response to my emails so I'm hoping this will help you find my latest resend. Please check your email. Anybody know how to dissasemble the Ciener/CMMG/Spikes .22 bolt? I'd like to strip it down and give it a good cleaning, but cannot seem to pop out either of the roll pins on this thing... CAN it be dissasembled?? |

Does anyone thick BDM mags can benefit from having some more lift to the cartridge in the feed lip area?
If you compare the Ciener / GSG-5 / Advantage Arms 22 conversions mags, they tighten up a bit at front of the feed lips. This seems to take advantage of the rimmed cartridge and helps provide more "lift" to align the cartridge to the bore axis. I think if they did this, a lot of feeding issues (FTF) can be resolved. FTE / Extractions issues appear mostly related to extractor spring and extractor shape.

Have had my M261 BDM/OLY mags for awhile, received the new followers and springs a week or so ago.
Installed them and the light pin strikes almost completely went away. Noticed a little bolt marking on top/back of mags, filed slightly and have 100% reliable action from mags now. |

| We have a new mag in the works that will have the pull down follower, I wouldnt call it the M&P pulldown, I prototyped a model like that 3 years ago but decided not to run with it because the rimfire stack can get criss crossed if pulled down too far while loading. Seems to be a popular thing as long as the one loading it knows to only pull it down a few rds. at a time. |

| That's good to hear.. I have 4 of the full size Gen 1 mags that have thousands of rds thru them and was looking at getting more, but I will wait until you have the new style... I really think those are the way to go, and if a shooter can't figure out that you only pull down the follower a few rds at a time until the mag is fully loaded.... they have bigger issues and should not be shooting firearms..... |

Racheal is just the best. They are some of the coolest people I have ever dealt with in the gun market. I have over 10 BDM's and they all work killer. I spoke to them about there soon to be release "pull down" style BDM for the AR style rifles... (I suspect they will do it for more) but either way they make nice stuff. And I have one of there old loaders and man those things rock to bad they do not make them anymore.... I have thought about trying to make some at my shop. Who knows... :) |

I used my BDM mag and Ciener kit for the first time today. We put about 300 rounds or so through it and had a great time. Unfortunately there wasn't quite enough tension in the spring to get it to feed through the last 5-10 rounds really well. I did discover that a .223 shell casing could be used in place of the standard plunger/bottom plate lock to get a little extra tension and have it running really well. Over all, I'm quite happy with it and will be looking for more .22 stuff from them in the future. |

M1A4ME, I too am having problems with BDM mags. Please explain "right side" of mag .....viewed from stock end of weapon or "right side" as viewed from muzzle end of weapon ???..........."G" ( hard to tell from the conversion bolt )
Update 3/16/2010...I polished the feedramp to remove the crosscut tool marks on the CMMG conversion, that solved the occasional failure to feed problems. Was still having duds...switched fron Remington Gold-Bulk to Federal Auto Target from W-M. All mags working fine, no duds..I am a happy user of the CMMG conversion now...."G".

Does the gen 4 have the full length slot with a button attached to the follower so you can use your thumb to depress the follower as you load???(Like the S &W Mags???)
You get that and match it up to the replacement Bolt release that will hold the bolt open and you will finally have it all..... I'll be over here in the corner...... waiting....

| Is BDM looking into larger capacity drums? I personally cant justify a $80 drum when I can have 4 mags and twice the round count for the same price... If there was a 100 round drum in the works... I'd be all over it... but then again it would probably cost more than $80 and put me back in my current situation.... Oh well... |

here is a sneek peek ot the new steel feed lip mag, 2 models- ciener and dpms/colt with feed lip ejector.
Follower pull down, 32 rd capacity, steel replaceable feed lip and follower will activate the Alex C. true B olt Hold open latch.

| its the bolt catch that Alex in california was making. there were a bunch of posts about it a while back, I will see if I can find one. You replace your stock bolt catch on your lower to the new extended latch that is activated be the follower in my new magazine. Results are a true BHO latch. |
