Has anyone experienced this? It has happened a few times with different ammo. My kit is not that old and I haven't noticed any damage to the kit or lower. |
| yes , its happened to me as well , its a recent thing , ive had the setup a while and its always been fine before , but unlike you ive only noted it with one ammo brand - while ive been alternately trying out about six diferent brands for best perfomance , and it was only the first two rounds from the 10rnd mag each time , i had none with the 'blackdog 30rnd' at all |
| If you're shooting a .22, I've noticed that many cases of a .22 going FA are ammo-sensitive. For some reason, some ammo cycles at just the right rate for the hammer to not reset or something of that kind. Try shooting a hotter ammo, or a lighter one. A brand change often fixes the problem. |
| I guess the ammo issue makes more sense. I checked the lower parts for any flaws and found nothing. I am going to leave the Federal variety (Ammo Match, Value and Champions) for the 10/22's and try some Rem value packs for the ciener. I'll post an update when I try again. |
| it happens to me from time to time w/ different guns, parts check out ok. i belive it's from the pull of the trigger, if you pull slow & steady, like if shooting for accuracy. it never happens w/ harder, faster yank like when just blasting. i think some gun's have a small window of oppertunity were if you pull slow sometimes the stars line up & the disconnector dosen't catch the hammer because the trigger isn't pulled back far enough yet it's still far enough to not catch the hammer w/ primary sear surface on trigger. i've never been able to do it intentionaly though. |

My AR with the Ciener kit does this. It is kinda funny/cool, but I'm sure if a ranger heard/saw it, you'd be asked to fix it. I would like to fix it but I don't really know where to start. Also, the way you pull the trigger does change it a bunch. Slow pulls end up double tapping, sometimes it does it on the trigger return. Quick crisp pulls normally cycle properly. I use the federal 550 round packs from Wal-mart. My interal parts are RRA, the lower is a Superior. |
