I've been researching all I can the last few days on these kits. I've read everything I could find on the web and tons of posts here. I'm left with 2 questions that I could not find an answer for:

1. Do the kits cause any long term damage to the barrel/upper for accuracy and function with .223?

2. Is there any advantage to spending more money on something like a dedicated Bushy .22 upper versus just using these kits? I realize accuracy might be a bit better with the 1 in 16 twist on the dedicated upper versus my 1 in 9, but any other advantages?

1. None

2. It all depends what do you want to do with the system. If you want tight groups and for competition, then get the dedicated upper. If you want to plink, train with low cost ammo and have a lot of fun, get the conversion.
I had both at one time but decided to keep the Ciener unit over the CZ upper cause it was better for me. For target and tight groups, I use my "tuned" 10/22. For practice and fun, the ciener.

You do need a 1/16 to get the most of the .22lr but it will work fine with other twists.

I say get the ciener. If you do not like it, sell it.

So for competition shooting, no go. But for practicing 1 to the head, 2 to the chest drills it will get the bullets in the general area right?
