Moderators, I am not advertising or selling anything with this message.

The current status of AR45 production is on hold. I found one company willing license the rights to manufacture the AR45 but they are having problems with insurance. there are only a few companies that underwrite insurance for gun companies. The insurance company that most of the big name AR15 makers use wants upwards of $20,000 - $30,000 per yer. We would have to sell tens of thousands of lowers to pay that and still make a profit.

The proposed manufacturer is still working the issue and I have not given up hope. I am posting this message as I don't want potential buyers to sit on their .45 upper and GG mags waiting for a lower that may not make it to market for some time.

In the mean time, I recommend the Cav Arms lower or the lower from eisman. They both have good products, just different ways to execute the theme.

I am retiring from the Army in the next 6 months and can't do anything furthur to get set up as a manufacturer at my current location as I am moving when I retire.

I'll continue to push to get the AR45 produced. Thanks for your support.

TC

Edited to add:

I recontacted 3 gun manufacturers yesterday and one shot me down. Waiting to hear from the other 2. I will also contact as many manufacturers as I can, again.

One of the companies I contacted yesterday said they would review my contract and get back with me next week.

In the mean time, I suggest guys try the Sten mag/regular AR lower route to tide them over. I recommend the KKF magwell block as it does not protrude below the magwell and works great.

Best of luck retiring and thanks for the update. Is Tricare Prime available where you are going?

I don't know where I am going to retire yet. I don't reall have a home of record anymore so I'll go where the next job takes me. Even Tricare basic is better than most health plans.

Sorry to hear you've hit a snag. I was looking forward to having another rifle that takes GG mags.

Could someone please make a sticky/FAQ of different options for .45 cal AR conversions (including where to buy everything you need)?

I can't fix the pictures. I used zoto.com and they just went to a pay for posting system and trashed over 100 of my photos.

I just logged onto another picture hosting site and will need to upload all new pictures.
Give me a day or two and i'll fix the pictures.

I have hundreds of pictures here on arfcom and they are all gone. Thanks a fucking lot, Zoto.
