Okay gents (and ladies if applicable), I finally received my Ciener for my birthday! Came home quickly and slapped it in my carbine, racked the charging handle, and...it doesn't go into battery. So I loaded a few rounds in the mag...bolt still didn't go all the way forward. There is about a 1/4 inch gap where the round is visible inside the chamber. Best I can figure it the .22 bold is catching on the bolt release on the lower. When the gap is there I can pop the rear pin and swing the rifle open, as soon as I do the bolt closes all the way. Please help, I'm planning a trip to the range Sunday and want to try out my new gadget. Thanks all, you haven't let me down yet. |

The ammo fits in the chamber and it is even showing the gap when no ammo is loaded in the chamber. There is already some wear on the bottom of the ciener kit where the lip of the bolt is for sure catching on the bolt release. I've fiddled with the bolt release lever and cannot seem to get it to not catch the bolt, even with rounds chambered. Thanks for the suggestions but apparently I need more help...story of my life lately. |

Josh, I tried to return your instant message, but you arent' accepting them. Are you certain the bolt is catching on the bolt release? The reason I ask is that I've never heard of this problem with a Ciener kit. I'm not saying this isn't your problem, it's just that it is the first time I've heard of it. I would take a black marker pen (or a candle flame or lighter) and cover the areas where you think the bolt and the bolt catch is rubbing. These rub marks will ensure that this is the cause of your problem. If the bolt release is the issue, you could try another bolt release. Or, you could remove some of the metal off of the bolt release with a dremel type tool. If you make a mistake on the bolt release, you can always buy another. Dan |

I have my kit in a Rock River lower and I have no issues with it at all. You should take the chamber out of the rails and make sure it is located properly and place it back in the rails. Is there a chance that the Mag is causing an issue? I have also heard of charging handles causing problems. |

Take the upper off the lower and get a better look at where its stopping what could be the begining point of tention. try the kit without the C/H in the upper to rule it out. You can still cycle the bolt with your finger from the side and bottom with the upper off. Keep us posted. |

I went ahead and ground off a little (not even 1/16 of an inch) from the bolt release and it is now cycling just fine. I re-installed the .223 bolt to check to make sure I didn't ruin that function and it works just fine as well. I sat and watched a movie last night and just worked the .22 action again and again (as recommended by others on the forum). I'm heading out today to pick up some dry-lube and a variety of high velocity and hyper velocity .22LR rounds of varying weights, etc. I'll be hitting up the range tomorrow on my way home from work and will post my results. Thanks for all the help! |
