For those of you who have the Hahn mag blocks, I have the Hahn dedicated block and just installed it. After installing it (yeah I know), I noticed 2 things: The feed ramp is slightly loose. It has a slight wiggle to it. The ejector is also loose. Are either of these normal?? I have not shot the rifle yet so neither may be an issue but I was hoping to only have to install the mag block once......... scottMO |

It's ok for the feed ramp to have a very lil bit of movement....it's part of tolerance and clearance in manufacturing....a fine line between a few thousands of an inch between fitting and and being too big. The ejector is supposed to have movement to find its way thru the bolt carrier ejector slot and to allow for the BHO to have the clearance to move freely. You should be good. |
Wrong answer... Ejector has to be tight. With the COLT design, the ejector already has minimal contact withthe case as appear from the bolt face. Freind had problem with cases ejecting from his M16 at this last ISSMC, he has since secured the ejector, all is well. |

The feed ramp has a very light wiggle and prob isnt much at all. The ejector has a pretty good amount of play in it. I just got my AR15 9mm SBR form 4 approved (transfer) and was anxious to put it all together. I know I should have checked it/noticed it first and I had the Hahn block several months ago and could have dealt w/it then. I'll know more when I get a chance to shoot it. If it does not eject properly, how do I get the bolt stop off to remove the dedicated/top loaded mag block?? I drove in the bolt stop pin back to front (towards the front of the receiver). there doesnt seem to be much room (due to the mag well recess) to try and drive it out the reverse way (from front to back), so should I just drive it all the way through?? Does the Hahn block just come apart when the hex screws are removed? Will a replacement ejector fix this or will I need to do the weld mentioned above? Will Hahn do anything for me (warrenty??, normal wear??) Once again, all comments appreciated. scottMO |
That is THE word from Hahn Precision, the ejector was designed to float on ALL the adapters, and has proven to be reliable. A rigid ejector can rub and force the bolt to rotate within the upper. The location of the bolt slot varies. There is ZERO need to gunsmith a fixed ejector to the adapter. The Hahn adpaters have been working well for a long time without it. If you are having problems with FTE that are solved by tweaking an ejector your solution is precarious and a bandaid for the real problem yet to be solved. |
