I just recived my RRA 9mm several weeks ago. The trigger pull is unbeliveable, over 9 pounds and very gritty. I have stoned it and improved the feel, but still at around 9lbs. I have talked to RRA several times, and it was my understanding that little could be done without damage to the pins. I don't need a hair trigger but I would like to get down to around 5 pounds. From my converastion with them it sounds like none of the after market will work, without damage. One othe thing I have noticed is that when I pull the trigger I see the hammer is being moved a little. Not being familiar with the AR set up, is this normal? I have done many 1911 triger jobs and this is not acceptable to having a good trigger job. With all the RRA owners here I am sure someone has experenced this before and has a fix to the situation. I did look thru other posts and did not see this topic, but I am sure it has been asked before.

if you get your bolt ramped (search) you can use a DPMS style 5,56 hammer which might feel a little better

but fyi, any normal AR15 trigger is going to be over 6lbs...

I had the 22.00 trigger job (28.00 now?) from the guy here on AR15.com and it did wonders for my generic lpk.  My trigger pull was heavy and "gritty" described it pretty good.  I know the hammer is a little different but I would like to think that he could improve yours as well.

1) Get bolt ramped
2) get yellow trigger and sear springs
3) I use shooting star trigger slick / grease but others are just as good and maybe better.

I have a 4-5# pull on my RRA and it is super smooth......

Some may argue about a light pull on a military style rifle.......

I have an RRA 9mm upper on a VM-Hytech Lower.  Unless RRA does something totally different with the lowers, any AR trigger should work.

For myself, I bought a DMPS Hammer, and a Jard Adjustable Trigger from Brownells.  I do have a "hair" trigger, as it breaks at 1.5lbs and has minimal reset.  I would put that trigger up against any of the JP triggers that cost upwards of $200.

If you don't want a hair trigger you can buy the non-adjustable 3lb.

Would just a new set of lighter springs work?
