Just one quick question. What is the best twist rate for a .22 when being shot through a .223 barrel? I've got two uppers that I can use and I just was wondering which would be the most accurate...1x9 or my old M16 upper with 1x12.

Try both, I am curious as I have a JAC kit and only have the 1:9.

My carbine shoots acceptable groups (ammo dependent)  at 50 yards.

At 100 yards I can consistently ring our 12" gong.

No small game rifle for sure but fun none theless.

most dedicated 22lr barrels are going to be about 1:15 twist. so the a1 1:12 is probably going to be the best

MY CLE upper is a 1\14 twist. I'd go with the 1\12.

The "standard" rate for .22LR is 1/16".  You'll probably find the 1/12 will shoot better than the 1/9, but try both.

Also try different kinds of ammo.  I have two friends that use Ciener Kits in .223 AR carbines.  Both barrels are 1/9 twist.  One found that CCI Blazers are the most accurate.  The other found Winchester Wildcats were.  In friend number 1's case, the wildcats were horrible, while in friend number 2's case the Blazers were horrible.
