Hey guys- I am looking to build a 9mm Colt pattern SBR and run it with a can. I plan to use a registered SBR lower I currently have, and buy/use the following parts: -M4 stock -Brownells 9mm conversion kit with mag block, hammer, buffer and spring -CMMG 9mm 11.5" upper -MI MCTAR 22 (12" rifle length 2-piece free float rail) -AAC Striker suppressor (or similar can meant for a fixed barrel SMG) -C-Products new Colt pattern 9mm mags (the conversion says its for RRA mags, but it will work with regular Colt mags, too. Right?) The CMMG upper IS designed for the Colt pattern lower, correct? Will that hammer work with 5.56 uppers, too? Or should I get the mag block by itself, and buy a DPMS hammer? Should I run a heavier buffer than a standard 9mm buffer? I've heard a 7oz buffer will work better when shooting with a can. The more I think about it, I should dump that "kit" and just find a mag block somewhere (where?), get the DPMS hammer, and a 7oz buffer. Should I worry about a different spring than the standard buffer spring that is currently in my M4 stock? Thanks! |
