any other mags besides colt will work as is or with slight mods for the Colt Ar-15 .22lr conversion.
also current value of colt unit? (rough market guess)

DPMS mags may work.  I think that their conversion kit is based on the colt.

Older DPMS mags work just fine, but they don't have the pin/tap like the colt mags on top of them.
Hope the DPMS mags will be available someday before THE SECOND COMING
