DoI need a 9mm "bolt catch" w/the Hahn mag block and colt mags or does it matter?

I have the "Dedicated 9mm" Hahn block....the great part is that it uses the standard 5.56 bolt catch...yes it holds open with Colt mags

No, leave the standard bolt stop in. The Hahn is made too work with the standard bolt stop.

But that will only work with the bottom loading Hahn block with the riser that works off the standard BHO. There's also a toploader by Hahn that you would have to use a 9mm BHO catch since this unit is absent of this feature. In this setup you would probably have a dedicated lower receiver for 9mm only.

TBO49 that is not correct. The Hahn dedicated mag block uses the standard 5.56 bolt stop, and also supports last round bolt hold open with Colt mags. To verify, google Hahn Precision.

Exactly.....I have the top loading dedicated 9mm block and it DOES use the standard 5.56 bolt catch.....no question.

I see. The last time I checked, and that was some time ago, they had just the top loader w/o BHO option and bottom loader w/BHO. On this "dedicated" top loader they mention that it is installed on an armourer's level. Is it pinned in or is there a semi- permanent way it's installed? I'm kinda interested in how this unit goes in.

Actually to correct myself on my reply above, it says it has to be removed on an armourer's level once it's installed, but still I want to know how it's put in.

All that means is that you have to remove the bolt catch (roll pin with a long punch and hammer) slide the block in from the top..then re-install the bolt catch and roll pin.

I have one....it is a great item.

Ok gotcha. I guess this would be much stronger than the standard toploader using a dedicated 9mm bolt catch. I'm thinking of getting the standard toploader because in my state, the boatload of 25 and 32 round Uzi mags that I bought before the end of 1999 for my Group Industries carbine are the only ones I can have. The Colt, Promag, and (luckily for you guys) the future C Products mags with BHO capability are sadly a moot issue for me.
