I need a good cheap plinker/squirrel getter. How would this rifle fit the bill?

Is this the rifle you're talking about?

If you have an AR you should get one of the good 22lr uppers that are available or for just shooting varmints get a Ruger 10/22 but don't get the one in the picture!

Not to be mean but that is the worst copy of an AR that the world has ever seen....If you dragged it out from under a train wreck it couldn't look any worse...or cheaper...I agree with AR-fan go with the Ruger 10/22 Now that is a good gun for a great price.

Anything would be better! Parts and extra magazines are always a problem with odd things like the armscor.

hilarious description ------------------------but true!

Foxtrot427,
If this rifle is what you want than get it but if it's used, see if you can try it out to be sure is functions.

Damn, that's a huge leap.........I guess the squirrel shooting went away as a motivation to buy a rifle.  Shooting an M1A into the trees, jeez, I hope you know where the rounds are going to land!

+1 on the 10/22

I believe Foxtrot427 said he was looking for a cheap plinker and, although he didn't mention a price, The ARMSCOR might be right in his range. I only mentioned the 10/22 because it can be found used at a good price and parts are very easily available along with hi-cap mags. My only real gripe with the ARMSCOR pictured earlier is the looks and if something breaks you may or may not have trouble finding parts. One man's heaven could be another man's hell so if this is heaven for you -- go for it! As you have seen by the replies, the biggest problem with that particular  rifle is the looks -- a very poor rendition of an M16.
