Hey All, I am new to the forum, as well as relatively new to the world of pistol caliber AR's. I have put a few thousand rounds through my AR, which I purchased used. It always operated flawlessly.

Recently, I have been having a problem. It chambers a round, but when the trigger is squeezed, I hear and feel the hammer drop, but no boom. I clear it, and find 2 things, 1, no dent in the primer, and, the round is loose, does not draw out of the chamber with the bolt.  I have broken it down, the firing pin and spring are in good shape, the hammer is as well.

I have a telescoping stock and wonder if it has backed off and is not allowing the buffer spring to hold the bolt tight against the chamber.

I was wondering if any of you have experienced something similar, and if so, what was done to correct the problem?

Thnaks for any help in advance.

Check the extractor and the extractor spring.  Also checkt  the chamber for any obstructions or build up.  What kind of set up do you have, Oly or Colt?
