I put together a RRA complete upper on a SGW lower containing RRA hammer/buffer and Garrison bolt hold open and mag block. It has 1100 rounds through it, hardly trouble free:

First Mags were Joe Black Uzi conversions with follower tab added - Mostly fed OK except for last 3-4 rounds in most magazines.
Second Mags were Pro Mag Synthetic - some worked, others misfed first 1-6 rounds and some won't seat properly.
Third Mags Colt 9mm - One won't seat properly and grab mag catch, feeding issues.
Fourth South African  - hard as hell to load, fed OK, seating issues.

The only one I have no problems with is a 20 rd Uzi conversion I got from CDNN.

Some mags have the rounds nose-diving into the feed ramp, others have them nose high causing a stovepipe jam. Then there is the mag seating issue where they won't grab the mag catch, bolt open or closed.

Does this sound like an issue with the mag block? I even dropped the $$ for the Colt mags and still had problems.

Thanks for any advice.

Ive done about 30 uzi mags from ribbed to un ribbed and Ive played with a few colts.  My experience is that almost all of the uzi mags need to have the feed lips adjusted to your rifle with your mag block where you plan to keep it positioned.  Sometimes the lips need to be bent up and out - I use a cresent wrench for this.  This seems to be the most common problem and remedies the dreaded nose dive.  I have probably only had 1 or 2 Colt mag probs and they were used beat to hell mags that needed tune ups.  The other area that is often over looked and mags/feed lips get blamed for the prob is if the mag sits too high and rubs on the bolt, slowing it down one gets stove pipe jams.  All the tweaking of feed lips in the world rarely works, but a simple lowering of the mag (by opening the mag catch slot) solves the issue in about 2 minutes.

Having done both the uzi and sten mag conversions, I have to say the uzi conversion is by far a much bigger PITA with respect to mags.
