I have an Olympic Arms .45 upper that came with their flash hider. It is pretty ugly, does anyone make a flash hider for .45, something like the phantom would be nice.

Azexpertarms made this no ban model for my 11.25" bbl Oly upper. Its 5.75" overall and made from aluminum. Yea, my bbl was cut a little short....
ETA: very little to no flash is seen after dark using 230gr ball. 45 Super is another story, but its still negligable. Yea, its a Tacpoint! Works great.

Depending on the thread on your barrel, the options can include

Smith Enterprise Vortex (custom made, costly)
Yankee Hill Phantom (needs to be opened up, economical)
DPMS Phantom (longer than YHM, needs to be opened up, economical)
Tromix A1 style (economical)
USGI M-60 FH (needs to be opened up, novel appearance)

I can probably get a picture that shows all but the top 1 as I have not yet received the batch we ordered ...

Hey slickbt,
Still got that flash hider for the Oly that you don't like? I bought a 45 oly flattop that didn't have the Flash Hider on it. Would you be interested in selling it? If so please E-mail me...hanks,Jon

There isnt much flash to hide with a semi auto .45 AR. KKF makes a brake that will work for a .45. I believe it is about $50. I was considering having one of these installed on my upper.

We ended up with extra Smith Enterprises Vortex made for the .458 SOCOM.  These should work like a champ for the .45 ACP ... thread pattern is 5/8x24

Cost will be $85 shipped
