Hey guys, just took my 9mm Oly to the range today and had some probs.  The mags will not fit up into the upper far enough for the bolt to catch the rounds.  Any suggestions?  It appears that the mags need to go up into the receiver about another 1/16 of an inch.  Any help greatly appreciated.  Have 10 mags and all of them are loose (don't go in far enough).

Your adapter mag catch may be too low, that dictates the magazine position......as a general rule you try to have the mag "into" the bolt as high as possible.  You could very easily have a bad batch of magazines....Sten mags are inconsistant in general.

Revamp your adapter......try a new batch of mags.

Thanks, was figuring that I was gonna have to re-work the mag block.  Would rather re-work the mag block than modify every single mag.

What type of mag block are you using? Socom, KKF?

The "foreskins" on Sten Mmags can vary in height, as many countries made them.  I would apply a spot/bead of weld with MIG, and file the weld to correct tihe foreskin height/mag catch seating.

An update.  I contacted Kurt at KKF and he is the greatest.  I told him about problem and all he said was "send it back for modification"  Now that is service!!!!!!
