Ok, a while back I bought the plastic casing deflector and half door to go on my 6450 (it came without them for some reason).  Anyway, after installing them, the casings get deflected back into the chamber, casusing some of the worst jams I have ever seen.  I hope I have the thing installed correctly, I am most curious about the spring that goes between the defelctor and the receiver.  Any ideas?

The spring fits on the bottom of the back side of the case deflector.  It provides tension using the dust cover hinge pin, and keeps the deflector pushed up against the receiver.

I guess I am not installing it correctly, as my deflector seems to be pushed away from the receiver.  I am still not sure how the cases are being knowked back into the chamber though.

You can always remove the gas deflector and use a 5.56 port door. The first Colt 9mm's were this way. How was function before you added the gas deflector?

It ran flawlessly......it came to me that way, with the full length door.  I just thought the deflector looked cool.  Oh well, I'd rather run 100%.  At any length, the casings don't fly back at my head anyway!
