I am thinking to get a dedicated upper. It doesn't have got to be a tack driver. I use it for plinking and indoor shooting. I narrowed down to CZ and DPMS. Comparing these two uppers, which one is better? I am open and would like to hear your opinions.

thanks.

I love my DPMS but I bought it when Cheaperthandirt had them for $400. They aren't in their latest catalog. Now they're $500. Today I'd be looking seriously at the CZ for $300. I hear they shoot just fine, too.

Also look at the Bushmaster upper.

Also wait until the Rhineland R22 comes out. Should just be a couple more weeks now. Sounds like a lot of rifle for about the price of an AR upper.

Consider Ceiner
Some  want better accuracy,I have found it to be pretty good with the right ammo.
I really like the ability to go with whatever upper I feel like shooting .
Ceiner mags are not cheep but they hold up well and are easy to clean ,(this does count as blowback .22 does create a mess)
The kicker to me are the 30 round mags

Get the DPMS dedicated .22 upper. I just grabbed one from Midway.com, it's the one with the bull barrel 16", FF tube (A3) config. They have two left at just $379!!!
I checked out the CZ and didn't like it.....and it looked very difficult to clean.

Its funny you said Midway cause I had a alert on for when they got the M4ery preban's in "or no ban now"  Well there in and there 499.00  If I was going to spend 500 for another upper "DPMS"
I would just call DPMS.  499 from midway, 499 DPMS.  WTF.....

I have the V22 and I love it.  Its not difficult to clean at all.
I also like the idea that you can use the Ciener 30 mags in it.

When to the range and at 50 yards ripped the center right out of the target.  Had to be embarassing for the guy next to me shooting the HK and 15 yards and could barely keep it on the paper.  I'll post pictures and a full report shortly.

My wife got me the DPMS M4 22LR upper for Christmas.   Minimal experience yet, but looks good so far.

Check Cheaper than Dirt online.  They list a 16" 22LR upper with no sights for $299.  General catalog information idicated DPMS as the manufacturer, but I'm not certain.   (Best deal I've seen if it is indeed DPMS).

YES!  The CTD .22 LR upper is DPMS.  I bought one 2 weeks ago.  DPMS calls it the "Panther".  Be advised that it has a bull barrell - and I mean BULL.  The barrell is 1" diameter and very heavy.  The barrell is free floated.  No sights.  High quality piece and a bargain for $299.  R/ Jim

I just received my CZ upper today, and after a 100 round break in, it seems reliable. I haven't checked it for accuracy yet. It's very easy to clean and disassemble. The one negative is the painted finish. It seems fairly crude. I would have much preferred hard anodizing. I guess if it doesn't hold up, it should be fairly easy to refinish. It does appear to be well engineered, but if I could have found a DPMS for the $290 I paid for this, I would have gone with it.

I cant find a .22 upper on the CTD site for 299, they have one for 399, but not 299.
