Yeah that is Colt's.  FWIW Oly is ...... 1/2X28.......  Guess whose 9mm pistol can is 1/2X28 and threads right on to his brand new 9MM Oly upper.

What a pleasant suprise.

1/2x28 is the thread for a .223 upper.  9mm is different to prevent someone from getting hurt by putting a .223 FH on a 9mm Barrel.  I think the 9mm thread is 1/2x36 but I'm not 100% sure that is right.

Dunno.  What Caliber is it?  Mine is 9MM and a beautiful 1/2X28.

Mine is a 9mm also.  Shoots good.  I cannot figure why My threads are so much different.  I have only had it about 3 months.  Bought it brand knew from Atlantic Firearms.  They ordered it directly from Oly. 2 months before the ban expired.

Olympic will thread 9mm only in 5/8x24 by default or 1/2x28 when asked.  All the rest are 5/8x24.  The reason why 9mm only has to do with leaving enough 'meat' around the barrel, not because of trying to reduce chance of osmeone putting wrong device on end of pistol caliber barrel.

Strange,  I didn't ask them for 1/2X28 but am sure glad they did.  Will tide me over untill I SBR it when Form 1 comes in.
