I've been looking at the DOE and I'm really in love with the look.  Does anyone make DOE type uppers?

Contact Mike at TSC.

He'll send you a link to pics of what he builds.  I have one of his DOE uppers and it's impeccably made.  The barrel is heavier than the Colt article and not chrome lined, just to let you know.

An alternative place for short stuff is www.9mmar15.com

Great.  Is chrome lining even worth the bother in a subgun?

AR223, glad everything is working well with your upper and for letting other people know about our products. Here is the link to some of the work we offer.

That looks awesome.  I'm trying to understand how this is legal though.  Does it have to be installed on a pre-ban lower?

Thanks...Tim

Gun must be registered as a SBR (short barreled rifle)

Can anyone point me in the direction of info for SBR procedures.  Also, would it make a difference if I waited for the possible sunsetting of the AWB.  Thanks

Thanks for the info Osprey....

Same here, I imagine a tax stamp is required but I need to research the procedure.

Is SBR legal in NY state (i.e. where Ronin8 is listing as his home state?)

SBR's must also meet AWB requirements.  A post ban SBR  receiver still can not have a telestock, threaded barrel, FH, or suppressor.  Right now (read now, not 2 months f rom now) the best way to get an SBR is to SBR a preban lower.  Check out the SBR faq posted above and ask any questions in the M16 forums, those guys have all the answers.
