There's been a lot of talk about 9MM uppers
from the standpoint of trigger slap, pin breakage, bolt ramping, etc. Are there any
reports of similar issues w/.45 or other pistol caliber uppers?

My .45 was blowing hot gas in my face so I put a colt style gas deflector and heavier buffer.

The problems related to 9mm uppers are not much different than those with any other pistol caliber upper since they all operate by the same design (blowback).

You should do everything you do for 9mm and it will run fine.
