Sabre Defence Industries are looking to put the Colt M261 .22 Conversions back into production in September (after the AWB goes… 10 rounds & rimfires sucks!). Anyone had any experience with the Colt? Better/worse than Ciener?  Any feedback appreciated before I go sign up for an M4.

I can't say that I've heard anything bad about the Colt unit, or the Cienar (have one, no probs).  Two different systems, two different mags, two different personal preferences.

The M261, while a robust system is not as reliable as the ceiner.  It suffers two flaws.  The first is the mag inserts slipping inside the magazine used as a carrier, I found less problem with this using GI20s, 30s would slip causing misfeeds.  The second problem stems from the Position plate spring.  This is a small flat spring that holds the unit in place at the rear of the upper.  These only last about 5k rounds, then break at the bend.  I went through 3 of them.  It is a PITA when they break if you don't have a spare handy as the unit is out of action.  Otherwise, they are a very robust unit in every respect.  If these small problems could be overcome and perhaps a feed ramp added it would be a great unit.  People can say what they want about the owner of Ceiner, but his Mk111 unit has performed flawlessly for me.
