Why would a 30 round mag that works great with one bolt...not feed well with a different bolt. In other words when I take the 30 round bolt from my son's set up...and use it it mine...the rounds don't feed well...but if I user the 10 round mag that came with my bolt...it works fine.... thanks |

Here's some brainstorming: One guess is that there are slight differences in the machining. Maybe the bolt or the rails? The bolt may be sitting a little higher or a little lower because of this. When you say it is not feeding well, do you mean the round is not stripped from the mag? If so, maybe the bolt is rubbing on one of the feed lips of the magazine and causing it to lose energy. Take a black marker (or blacken with a match or lighter) to the mag lip and try hand cycling. The rub marks will indicate contact. Have you tried swapping recoil springs. After 1,000 rounds or so, my recoil spring weakened and wouldn't strip the first three cartridges. After replacing the spring, the problem went away entirely. Just some thoughts. Dan |
