Hoffman Tactical Trigger Kicker (Page 7 of 8)
|
I understand but am not sure of the details. I bought 2 Hoffman Trigger Kickers for testing. The 2 position doesn’t bother me as I will put one in a Shrike beltfed upper so no single shots necessary for me. It appears from photographs it uses all the semi parts, hammer trigger except disconnect or with Hofmann replaces. Figure it needs a good spring and an H3 buffer, got those. Gonna sell all of my H1’s in a group for TT money. Having my own estate sale while above the dirt and gonna have fun doing it. I have a new unfired Shrike that I just ran the numbers on and the main parts, barrel, bolt, feed tray and top cover are about 4K. Selling it at 5K is not what I call smart or profitable so may get it running also even though I do not need it for just wife and I, want 2 folding AR with FRT’s and the belts fed, the rest go to Tulsa gunshow (have a table) and will move the other 6 out at bargain pricing. If your in the Tulsa area in November and see and jaw jack with us. Bring your favorite pep pills cause 12 acres is a lot of walking over 2 days. Wore me out first time. mark |
| so the extended 4" pistol buffers work on 5.56 and aren't short stroking? what about using one in a full rifle 20" musket with A2 stock? what are options for heavy rifle buffer? |

+2 on the Tromix H3 buffer for the Trigger Kicker, Super Safety and ARC FIRE V2. I ordered 2 Tromix buffers- all ran right out of the box perfectly with all the above FRT’s- Anderson & Spikes lowers, short bbls, 16”, 20”, suppressed and unsuppressed. ALL of them 😁 NO issues at all. Tony was excellent on communication and advice. 5 stars across the board. I also have other H3 buffers with sliding weights from PWS, and 2 other mfgs- all ran well. The only one I have that hasn’t worked yet is Odin Works heavy FRT buffer. Hasn’t worked on any of my FRT’s yet. No idea why. Dead trigger and light strikes abound. Fooling around with springs now, haven’t found the right recipe yet. LMK if anyone has advice/insight. For $39 each, I’m going to stick with Tromix buffers for now and advising my friends to do the same as they get started. Tony- you’re the man! |

Slight rack of the bolt, and it ran like a cat in a lightning storm |

| OK you insiders, what’s the latest scooby on the Hoffman 3 position kicker? My 6.75” .458 S and 6.5” .30 HRT are really pestering me for a couple. |

| Just to put this out there if anyone is still on the fence about picking up a trigger kicker. I put one in a friend's bone stock psa 16 inch ar15 this week and it freaking rocks! Zero issues whatsoever and it just plain ran with no issues at all. Easy to install and easy to pull single , doubles and triples as well as dumping the whole mag. Just get a good grip and stance to keep it on target and have fun! Cant recommend this product enough! |

Not sure what you had in your cart. You need to link to a product page. The other thing to think about is that super safety setups generally get over-gassed for reliability. So maybe a KAK SOCOM 14.5" will be handier and have better luck with a trigger kicker. Thicker barrel for more pews too... |

Strangely enough (at least to me), Trigger Kickers seem to run better in PSA rifles. I bought three kickers and installed them in three different rifles for testing; a PSA 16" mid length, a BCM Recce-16, and a DDM4 V7. The BCM ran fine for the most part; had a couple issues with carrier bounce. The DDM4 didn't get through a single mag without a failure. But the el cheapo, bone stock PSA freedom rifle ran like a top. Zero failures whatsoever. My guess is that the combination of loose tolerances and a hogged out gas port led to increased reliability with the kicker. Now, whether the PSA will hold up long term with a FRT firing schedule.....I have my doubts. But for now it runs great. |

I installed a TK in an older Rock River A2 lower I had in the safe. Ran it today and it would shoot 3-6 rounds and then a hammer down with a light primer strike. I’d eject it and the same. Over and over. I have several ARC FIRES in carbine lowers and all run great. I’m not up to date on buffers and such in the A2 lowers. This lower has ran like a champ in semi for probably 20 years or more. Any troubleshooting thoughts? |

The hammer is stamped S S which I understand is a Schmid hammer. I did remove the disconnector spring. As far as I know it’s the original buffer but I found out last night I’ll have to remove the kicker to get the buffer out. I was just wanting to try this on an A2 lower with a full stock. If I can’t get it figured out I’ll just stick it in a high shelf carbine lower and have at it. Just for clarification I’m calling an A2 lower a lower with a fixed rifle stock and a carbine lower a lower with a collapsible stock. |
