A must have imo. I tried several things I had in the parts bins and no go. But as mentioned watch the video above and then check your trigger. See if it has the ramp at the rear of the disconnector slot. |

With a Colt trigger you are getting hammer follow as the operational mechanism of the gun. Light strikes are going to be part of your life until you get a trigger that allows the TTK to travel back far enough to catch under the safety. Pull the trigger, hold it back while racking the CH back. Slowly let it forward while continuing to put pressure on the trigger. If it was working correctly the bolt would be practically closed before the trigger is allowed to move again. I would bet that when you slowly let the CH home while squeezing the trigger, there is never any snap as the hammer falls, it just follows the BCG all the way. I would not run it when it is doing this, and I sure would not try running with a lighter than H3 buffer. |
|
Correct. I get the hammer following the bolt carrier. There is no sound of a hammer releasing as the bolt carrier closes regardless of which of the four uppers I use. I've tried an M16 style trigger in both my Colt and Anderson lowers. The trigger kicker slides back and forth easily. What I don't understand is why the Trigger Kicker works correctly in the lowers but not when any of the uppers are attached? |

| Rifles i have that need a stock fcg get a Right To Bear nickle boron coated hammer and trigger. Not as nice as the LaRue MBT-2S. But the trigger pull is better than parkerized ones. |

I'm thinking maybe the trip distance is marginal. It did the same thing with a SS. I think I have a spare trip to try No malfs over the handful of rounds I shot Science |

Just checked on Hoffman site and the Kickers are back in stock and I ordered 2 more. At 8:00 Central Time, they are in stock. Some on the other Trigger Kicker thread have said they have ordered more also. |

Ordered two today. Going to install them in Colt 6920 and 6951. Hopefully it works with the 9mm. I have a bunch of tromix h3 buffers I may need to order his 9mm buffer. I’m also going to try it out in the 3d printed kabuto lowers. It has a printed selector so I’m not sure if it’ll work or not. |

For those worried about the trigger pin holes or safety hole egging out I wouldn’t sweat it. One you can just use cheap lowers like PSA blems. Hell you can get them in 6 and 12 packs. For a nicer setup “if” you have a problem it would be an easy fix to drill tap them add a hardened outer threaded insert. |

I think I have a spare trip to try No malfs over the handful of rounds I shot Science This is all well and good, but you gave no details about the set up other than the Hoffman TK. What M16 trip did you use, the BoreBuddy M16 trip? Did you use any sort of bolt weight? And if so, which one did you use? What about extra power or reduced power recoil springs, or did you stick with the standard power recoil spring? What was the ammo you were using? In the .22 LR, I'm sure you know all these details matter tremendously. I have no interest in using the TK on a center fire AR, but on the AR-22, oh hell yes. I have a HTK coming in the next few days and it will be used only in the dedicated 9" AR-22, so any detailed information you can supply would be greatly appreciated. You know, for science! |

TK with milspec trigger. cmmg 22lr bolt 8" RTB 22lr barrel Borebuddy buffer plug BB dead blow weight kit. BB firing pin with light spring BB extractor with light spring Black dog 25rd mag OEM recoil spring BB disruptor/full auto trip CCI mini mag. Suppressor on and off Tried steel dead blow housing with all steel weights and all aluminum. Not reliable. I did get a couple 3-5 rd bursts but many dead triggers. I tried adjusting the trip in mulitple places. Nothing really pointed in any direction of success. Gonna try the aluminum sled with aluminum weights next time. May also try a stronger recoil spring and when the trip hits the TK, it may be slowing the bolt too much and causes a timing issue. |

| They ship Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I ordered on the 11th (Saturday) and got notice of pre-transit today (14th) so the label has been created and a tracking number assigned, but not yet in the hands of UPS just yet. It will probably go out tomorrow and then it is in UPSes hands so figure a week, ten days, next month? Who knows, but better than not ever arriving like what I have had happen with USPS several times this year already. |

I had ordered 2 more on Saturday the 11th. Got notification that a label had been created today. I am sure they will ship tomorrow. I am VERY pleased with the ones I ordered before! Once I got the hammer situation figured out, the 3 I have "upgraded" work like they should. A big thanks to whoever it was that posted about the hammers. |

Finally installed one today. It didn’t work with a single stage Larue MBT, but it dry fires correctly with a PSA Enhanced trigger. Not sure exactly what they call it… EPT maybe? Test fire tomorrow. |

PRS video with Hoffman. They use an actual Colt (with its funky internal design), a DOE 9mm, a Lima 6, a Hoffman printer lower, etc. and Hoffman said they were using standard buffers. They were able to get singles and doubles pretty easily although at this point I'm sure both of those guys have more rounds down range than I'll ever have with as many fast guns as they shoot. Hoffman only comments once about how everyone else can sell his invention, the super safety, but him. ![]() Trying Hoffman Tactical's Latest Invention! |

The part you mention: 12:34 It really depends on your buffer setup, of course. So, you know, a slower gun with a heavy buffer or that new KK buffer with the sliding tungsten weight in it makes single shots super easy just around 19:46 he does say he's using the KAK carrier as they're discussing the Orca. 20:06 So, this is interesting cuz it lets you just pop off those single shots like a dead blow buffer built into your carrier. 20:12 That's so cool. So, no more having to buy a $100 H3 buffer, which is now what they call. 20:17 This is a standard just three steel weights. Carbine buffer. Just carbine buffer. Yeah. So cool. Let's try this thing out. I initially missed the part around 25 minutes where he says he's testing a three position version. There's a big thread on these in GD and it seems most folks have them running, I'll have to skim back through it to see what buffer people are using. I'm more interested in it for a .22 so apparently that's still being figured out. ETA- I don't have one so all I know about them is what's posted. Found this guy saying he's using a stock carbine buffer in a .300 with it functioning. He speaks so painfully slow I had to push it up to 2x to get through it. ![]() Testing The Trigger Kicker by Hoffman Tactical Another edit- looks like someone on his forum got it to work with .22 but it takes some tinkering and a Bore Buddy kit https://forum.hoffmantactical.com/d/524-22lr-ar-style-rifle-with-trigger-kicker The forum for them on his website: https://forum.hoffmantactical.com/t/trigger-kicker |

I’ve tried everything I can’t get the burst modification to function reliably. I’ve incorporated carls, and other things. I’m thinking now about using my 4 position colt selector and cannibalizing a disco I made for the az reg to get the geometry of the UNOBTAINABLE 4 position burst disco by welding it to the rear of a normal burst disco. Those two things combined with an az reg A1 might actually work But for the kicker it rocks in safe/frt. I’ve got them in my longer heavy barreled ARs. |

Well, when you add the 5 Trigger Kickers I have bought, the H3 buffer I bought to try to fix one rifles problem which turned out to be the wrong hammer, then buying "several" new hammers to make sure I have enough to go around for the remaining Kickers and also add in the ammo I have blown through in testing AND for fun.......my wallet is the one NOT having fun and my ammo fort is giving me the side eye wondering....WTF? |

hey, i was trying to understand from scanning previous posts ( quickly i might add ) about the use of a particular type of hammer that would not work w/ the kicker. can someone please explain what the "wrong hammer" was? i just thought a spec hammer was all that was needed. i have not installed my kickers yet but i just want to make sure about this before i begin installing mine. thank you for your replies! |

It needs to be a semi-auto hammer that was cast as a semi-auto hammer, not a "demilled" hammer that was cast as a FA one with the hook for the auto sear that was subsequently ground off to convert to a SA hammer. See in this pic, you want one like on the left, you can see the casting seam still there down the middle of that face that hits the kicker, that's the good one. ![]() Schmid FCGs seem to be one he's tested and gives the thumbs up to, and a lot of white label and OEM trigger groups are Schmid (typically have an "S" cast into the parts). |

Got my kickers a couple days ago. Finally got to work on them today. Colt 6720: Dropped in, but needed to replace the trigger and hammer. Trigger for the rear notch of the trigger as known, the factory hammer was semi auto but has a notch removed in the top of the front of the hammer. I was getting hammer follow and the trigger would release while cycling the charging handle. 6920: Same exact hammer as the 6720. Haven’t gotten to this one yet but should work fine. 6951: I’ve owned this thing nearly a decade and never noticed it had an M16 select fire hammer as it came from Colt. ![]() Swapped in a hammer and trigger. Nothing consistent. Turns out the trigger kicker was just barely making contact with the weight that’s inside the Colt 9mm bcg. Will either modify this bolt or another bolt to clear the kicker |
