Sorry if this question is trivial....

I am building an AR with 16" barrel running a YHM free float quad rail.

Do I need the delta ring assembly? I was reading some reviews on an assembly kit and someone mentioned if youre running a FF rail you will be just fine with only barrel nut.

Is this correct?

No delta ring needed for free float. Have fun!

If a handguard uses it's own barrel nut, then you won't need a Delta assembly.
Most free float handguards, you don't need a Delta assembly, even if they use the USGI barrel nut.
