Hey everyone, I've been lurking for a while during my endless research into the platform and figured I'd drop in and introduce myself and talk about my build in progress!
I was never much into the AR scene until I helped a buddy build his 9mm carbine, and immediately felt the itch to build something of my own. I'm going for a semi-budget franken gun over a period of time by shopping sales and such, here's what I have so far: Anderson stripped lower PSA QMS LPK Damage Industries Buffer tube/Nut/Endplate Used Stag Arms M4 stock/Buffer/Spring Radical Firearms 16" Mid-length 1:7 5.56 SOCOM Barrel/Gas Block/Gas Tube Radical Firearms Upper Build Kit PSA Blemished Stripped upper So far, I'm in it for $330 and just about finished. I'll be sure to update when I'm done |
| The gas block that came with the barrel is low pro, so I'm on the lookout for a modular free float rail of some sort. Not a fan of quad rails, but both the ALG and UTG looks promising. Do you guys have any experience with either Mas Defense or the Nordic Components handguards? |

It looks like you will have a nice rifle In regards to a rail system/hand guard I would second ALG. ALG is a sister company to Geissele and both make great products. I have held and played with ALG and I think their quality is just as good as Geissele's. I love my Geissele Mk8 rail. |
