Can you take the latch piece off a charging handle or will it affect its use? Its a pita on mine, and until i get a raptor or bcm, can i just take the handle latch off? and just pull it back with middle and index finger on either side of it? Thanks.

The latch is there to keep the handle from sliding out of the reciever. Think about it. And until now I thought there were no stupid questions....

In boot camp saw someone knock his front tooth out because the charging handle wasn't latched and his cheek weld was a little close when he fired.
