Hi all. I have what might be a stupid question, but I'm somewhat new to the mechanical side of things with ARs.
If I'm a left-handed shooter and want to switch the stock 1-sided selector lever, can I remove it and place it in the right side? Just wondering if that would impede the function of the rifle or if it would still work properly. I know I could just buy an ambidextrous safety selector lever and install that, but I'm trying to save money here (I only have a part time job and am currently low on money). Thanks! |

No, they are machined so that a detent rides in a channel to limit its rotation; if you switch it to the left side it will not function.

Depending on your particular selector which you didn't mention what brand. Only If it is dimpled on both sides of shaft then yes you can reverse it. If it's Colt 6920 than yes they are switchable. It's the Smith & Wesson M&P 15 series (Magpul Edition, if that makes a difference lol). Thanks! |

I understand about money, but were talking about gun safety.
Most shooters are right handed, like my friends are... and girls. I would always want that right handed shooter option. RRA Ambi $25
