I buy the bulk red shop rags and they work well only hassle is taking them to the launder mat as the Mrs says no oily smelly shop rags in her washer

Good idea. I tried the red shop rags and they too left red fuzzies on my gun.

Quality Microfiber cloths are cheap.

I have a few cheap yellow microfibers from walmart and they don't leave any fuzz behind.

Believe it or not I use these cloths that came with a trumpet cleaning kit. No fuzzies, but not sure of the material it's made from.

I use old shirts, otherwise I buy cleaning patches made from shirt material for shotguns and then cut them to the size I need

I still have pieces from old thermal knit underwear I use for gun rags.  Soft and no lint.  There are lots of times when I grab a paper towel, especially if I'm at the range.  The only down side is that they aren't oily to start.

After a range session, for wiping down the dirty parts I use regular run-of-the-mill shop towels.  They are tough enough to wipe hard without tearing, and disposable.  If I'm going to wipe down the outside with CLP I'll just use a patch, which sometimes leaves fuzzies.  I use an old black T-shirt to wipe down the outside which removes any fuzzies.

I use old terry cloth dish towels.

When they've worn enough that the wife throws them out, there are no "fuzzies" left.

Soft and absorbent.

New to AR's, but I use Unbleached Muslin fabric for all my firearms cleaning. It's what the better quality cleaning patches are made of.

Buy it from the fabric store by the yard, and cut/ tear to desired size. Save lots o money that way vs. buying pre-cut cleaning patches.

OMG!  Never occurred to me to take home the endless scrap muslin from work.  Thank you!
