Anybody ever seen a brand new never fired  ar6536?  I know they were made for chp but can only find used ones. This one was picked off the line by a colt executive and was in a safe until I acquired it. I believe this May be the only never fired dissapator. Any thoughts thanks

That is sexy-hot. Lightweight barrel, too! What year was it made?

Nice. I have a serious love of dissipators, mock or not.

Thanks for the extra pictures. I started to ask in my first post if it was a mock dissipator or not, but figured Colt wouldn't do as such considering the old 605.

ETA: That's a strange barrel profile. It looks to be .625 under the sight base, but HBAR-ish underneath the handguards.

IIRC, it's a stock 6721 barrel with the FSB/GB shaved, and then re-profiled for the front sight installation.

Decidedly not a lightweight barrel.

I forget who off the top of my head, but last year or so a couple companies were "blowing them out" at around $700-$800-ish as trade-ins, some of which had cheap, commercial collapsible stocks installed, so they've become a relatively more common sight to see.

OP, can you weigh the rifle for us?   I think the profile is kind of neat on that barrel.  It like tapers, even if in steps, which is how a lot of "normal" barrels are.  Like on sporter bolt guns and such.  Of course.  I guess I'm being captain obvious.

Thanks for sharing pics of a very nice sample of this limited run dissipator.  If the barrel is what Augee said (6721) ... it would be a 1/9 twist and I had one of those HBAR barrels.  I used to consistently get sub-MOA group from that barrel with Sierra 77 grainers.  I sold the barrel after the group started to open up a little bit at about 3.5k rounds.

I wonder if the M4 lower forgings were available back in 2002..

btw, here's an older thread about those dissipators
