I love an A2 rifle so I bought one of the 39.99 stripped uppers since I didn't have any luck finding a complete upper
Where is the best place to get the parts to make the stripped upper complete less BCG charge handle Can I run a socom 16 inch barrel? Best place? What front sight do I need for rear A2 sight? I have searched alot and can't find good answers. I'm looking for a rifle I can beat to death and be reliable. Thanks |

DPMS has the upper build kit for around $50(minus CH).
Correct FSB for an A2 upper is a non F marked. An F marked FSB will work but might require a taller front sight post in order to zero, I've heard with a 20" barrel it really makes no difference if the FSB is F marked or not. |

Just go to the EE section and buy take off parts, some have scratches or nicks that don't interfere with function or reliability. I buy lots of parts at a good price there. It is a win for the buyer and seller this way. Good luck! Ron I have built a couple on A2's on Del Ton barrel's. I like them very much. Price was $154 plus some shipping. 20" Government Profile Barrel 1x9 twist barrel available in chrome moly vanadium Comes with FSB, barrel nut, and hand guard cap Does NOT include front sight post, detent, spring or front sling and rivet. I built a couple with Green Mountain barrels and had to install the front sight base on them. By the time I got thru the cost about they same and I cannot tell the difference between them. I have some PSA 20" uppers with the A3 receivers on them that I plan on swapping out the receivers with some FN A2 receivers I have. I have some Colt 20" but they are hard to find and more than double in price. I have a few 1/7 barrels but, I like the 1/9 best. So! You have a lots of options, do lots of reading before you spend money on something you may not like. Watch for sales, Watch the shipping cost. Don't get in a hurry. Hurry cost you money. PSA has an upper parts kit on sale for $23 that includes the delta ring set, dust cover set and the forward assist set. I usually just buy 5 of them for later use, ( they have a limit of 5) I get my A2 sight kit from JSE SURPLUS for $38. Good luck. Ron Sorry, I just notices your looking for a 16" barrel.
