I have a post ban bushmaster, that im trying to return to normal configuration.  It has a heavy barrel.  I want to have it contoured to GI weight and have the front sight base replaced with one that has the bayonet lug.    I want to have the barrel reparkerized after the work prescribed.

A while back I posted a thread asking for advice to have my barrel threaded for a flash suppressor.   I was advice to use a gent on here, although I cant recall his name.    He charged a fair price and turned the upper around quickly.      The work performed was good, But there is now a problem of sorts.   After some measuring, it appears that the barrel is about 1/8 of an inch too long.  The smith in question just threaded my barrel, but i guess didnt measure it to make sure the muzzle ring of a bayonet would line up properly should I ever replace my FSB.

So, while im happy to have a flash suppressor, im now looking to have the rest of the work performed and am in need of suggestions once more as to a smith to do this work.   ADCO comes highly recommended from several folks, and best I can tell the work I want would cost around 300-350.  Thanks for the input and God bless.

Think about just changing out the barrel assembly. Depending on what length
Barrel you want to go with will dictate the cost. Check out  midway usa for example
They have a model 1  16" carbine barrel with front sight base and bayo lug for $145.00
Shop around a little I think you could do what you want for about half the cost.

Just my 2 cents.

I hadnt thought about that.  Its a 20" barrel.  I want a GI profile barrel.  Chrome lined.  Good quality.

Can anyone suggest a brand of barrel to look for?

Ive just did a quick search, a barrel seems to be in the 250+ range.  I'd have to pay someone to install it as well.

Check with Palmetto State Armory, or Bravo Company.

From time to time, both companies have 20" barrels for sale.

Take a look at this one. Not chrome lined but good price.

Nice USGI FN barrels can be found. (I like them better then Colt)

Thanks for the leads.  I wont consider a non chrome lined barrel though.
