I have an A2 upper. I am removing the front sight base from a 14.5 in barrel and using a full length 15in free float rail (would have been same height as a flattop) what type/height of sight on the rails will work with the rear A2 carry handle sight
Thanks |

Keep in mind that A2 sights are 1mm shorter in height than A4/M4 sights, so you might run out of adjustment with some loads. If this happens, you can shorten the height of the front sight post. |

i think the sight radius makes a difference also, as in carbine sight radius, you will have to crank the front sight post down(when using a F marked FSB and fixed carry handle), but rifle length doesnt make much of a difference...generally speaking i think.. More than likely, but I wanted to make the OP aware if he is using Herter's or some other low powdered .223 load. I have a C7 upper with a Mid Length 'F' marked FSB and I have no issues with any 5.56 load, or most .223 loads, but with Herter's I run out of adjustment and the POI is still ~1/2" from POA at 50yds. I know, just don't use Herter's, but I live near a Cabela's. |
