Just finished the finial assembly on this. DPMS 18" fluted barrel. I had to bore the barrel nut to 1.052 to fit this 1.050 barrel diameter. Apex extended mid-length guard. The FSB had to be modified to fit the extended slot, I also removed the bayo lug and swivel mount.

Two times. I'm happy with the build and $800 cost. The Levang Comp keeps noise levels down. Very little muzzle jump, probably more from barrel weight than the Comp. Cycles pretty soft, noticeably less than carbine gas. The mid length gas and rifle buffer is a good combination.
My old eyes struggle with irons but I'm getting under 2moa with xm193. I need to have a set of lens made just for shooting irons. I think I well hang my old Colt 4X handle mount scope on it for the next outing, that should get me to 1 moa, I hope. |
