Alright i just purchased a dpms bull 24 and i love it for target shooting and varmit hunting but I've decided i want one shorter and lighter this time and would really like to build this rifle.
The wish list would be: 16inch barrel, well balanced, very dependable, affordable, four rail handguard. I have intentions of putting a trigicon acog on it also. so any help, advise or anything will be appreciated. Thanks guys |
| Think I'd just build another upper but this is an addiction so it won't be long before you have a coral full anyway. Think Hipshot is right. Just a matter of the pieces you want to use. If you like the way the 24" shoots think I'd leave it alone. Uppers are real cheap right now. Check PSA they seem to be the best quality for the coins right now and offer plenty of different flavors. Don't think you would save much in the long run tearing down the bull barrel but if your coins are tight selling and buying parts works too. Gonna be hard to get the accuracy of the 24" out of shorter LW models without spending considerably more coins but it's definately possible. There is a reason they produce your rifle in it's configuration and it's accuracy for the coins spent ratio and not the thrill of lugging around 10-11 lbs.. |
