Just got it back from ADCO today, I think it looks pretty good. I bought an FN Gov't profile A2 barrel assembly, 3/03 manufacture date, an FN FK A2 upper receiver and FN BC and MPF bolt. I sent the upper receiver to Vic at US Anodizing to reanodize, then sent the whole assembly to ADCO, Steve parked the barrel assembly and the BC (which had looked worn with shiny spots) and assembled the whole thing. CH and port door and FA courtesy of BCM. Just waiting now on my McKay Enterprises lower which should be back from IDENT markings next week. They are engraving the FN logo and "property of US Government, M16A2" on the lower. Can't wait to get it  all together!

Yea, that's going to be a sweetheart when it's done .  Out of curiosity, why did you re-anodize the receiver?

It was gray and I wanted it black to go with the lower

That's basically the project I have in the works, though I thought I'd leave the upper gray, since mismatched uppers/lowers aren't uncommon (and mine is in nice shape), to my knowledge. Just debating about the BCG. I'd like to have an FN, but don't know if it's worth it to me to spend the extra $. Thanks for the inspiration!

Actually I placed a WTB in the EE for the FN BCG and an arfcommer responded with a complete FN BCG for $105.

Nice score. I have been watching but no such luck so far.

Where did you find the A2 barrel? Was it new or used? Thanks.

On gunbroker, manufacture date 03/03, I think it was slightly used
