1st post. Just joined in the fun. Been getting a lot of good info from you guys. Thanks.
Looking to do some builds. Just bought 5 stripped lower RRA recievers. Looking to do a pistol, sbr (or just 14.5 inch barrel with pinned break. haven't decided if it worth spending the extra 200), and 20+" in 5.56/.223. A 5.7 upper. And a 7.62x25 upper. Then after those are thru I'd like to do a 50......like this http://www.50bmg.net/ unless a better one is available I haven't found yet. Besides the safety recall, according to the history and reviews, they seem to be a very accurate upper. |

I own a couple of SBRs (9" HK and 10" AR) and one 14.7" M4gery with a pinned FH.
In my opinion it isn't worth SBRing a 14.5" barrel. Either pin an extended flash hider or get a 14.7" barrel and pin a standard flash hider. If you're going to SBR a rifle go with an 11" barrel or less. I don't SBR mine unless there's no way to legally make it 16" The "cost" of SBRing is actually more than $200. You've also got engraving costs. Also you can't allow family members access to your SBR without you being present. You can't just give it to a friend or family member. Selling it becomes much harder too. The hassle isn't worth it unless there is no way around it. |

Also you can't allow family members access to your SBR without you being present. You can't just give it to a friend or family member. Isn't this avoidable by doing a trust and having family members on the trust? check your state laws to be sure but in VA as long as they are listed as trustee's then yes they have access to the trust's property. |
