Is the only reason not to have a rail extend past the AA XLP gas block to allow for adjusting the gas block easily? Or would having a 10" rail on a carbine length gas system with the XLP cause reliability and functionality problems? I am wondering because it is going to be a long time before I suppress my rifle, if ever, so I am not worried about changing the gas settings at all.

I have looked for info on this, but I cannot find any.

Thanks for the help in advance.

I have a Samson ego that extends past my mid length and I don't find it to be that difficult to adjust the gas setting as long as the barrel isn't hot.  I just use a slim nylon punch or a pair of needle nose pliers.
