What type of heat transfer are you guys getting with the long stroke piston system of the PWS guns?  HK flaunts the merits of a short stroke non heat transfer to the bolt.

There is more heat transfer with the PWS system than you'll see on some other designs.  Does it really matter?  Probably not.

all the piston designs I must say are fascinating to me!  I know PWS makes fantastic stuff!

I just like to see the advantages and disadvantages to each design!

To everyone, keep up the good work!

Best,

I'm thinking the whole short vs long is BS.  The gas hits a face of a piston and pushes back, it would seem to matter not a bit how long anything is, as every system is as long as it take to hit the carrier.  Theres no long stroke dwell time.  As in every system, the gas is dumped right at the piston face, so the heat is there and no more or less than any other at the BCG.

I've run the crap out of mine and never had a heat transfer issue to the bolt... Now the rails get warm, but the bolt is fine.
