I incorrectly posted nearly the same question in AR Discussions having glossed over this Piston forum so here it is again with slight modification.

"Yes I tried to do a forum search and had poor results.

I am strongly considering a PWS 16" piston upper to go on a three year old Daniels Defense DDM4 which of course is a Direct Impingement gun.

I think that I can keep my standard Buffer and spring and the only thing I need to do would be switch uppers

Am I missing something?   In the other forum it was suggested I might need a "Piston Kit" I know nothing about such a 'kit'.

This is the Warden's (wife) gun and she won't be pleasant if it doesn't run.

No I won't sell the DD Upper. I buy guns and parts, I don't sell them.

Thanks for your help!

If you swap uppers, to that of the PWS, you don't need to buy any kits. PWS doesn't sell their piston setup separately, so you will have to purchase a complete upper.

Push pins, pull off old upper, put new on and push pins back in. You may look into putting a heavier buffer in, depending on your barrel length, ammo choice and suppressed plans.

Okay Thank you.  I am not thinking of a suppressor, at least in the near term,  She did well with her DDM4 in our 4 day Front Sight Course so maybe I should leave it alone except for the trigger (Regular GI trigger)
I do have a new two stage Ruger trigger on hand right now,
I do intend to build a 80% lower and I could put either upper on that.
I want her to have the best I can provide.
