I saw this post on here where a poster stated that his PWS was "inaccurate". Just curious if any of you PWS owners have experienced accuracy problems with their rifles?

check out the link i posted in that thread. raves about the PWS rifle. They also review the PWS rifle and barrel in another article. Says they are dead-nuts accurate.

http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/03/foghorn/gun-review-pws-mk-114-rifle/

PWS custom machines their own barrels from blanks, and this barrel was no different. They use a 1:8 twist, imparted using a button rifling process (not the most accurate process, but good enough). The chamber for the .223 caliber projectiles is the increasingly popular .223 Wylde chamber, which combines the best features of the 5.56 NATO spec and .223 Remington to accommodate both types of ammunition while maintaining the best accuracy. And on the 100 yard range, it certainly looks like all that work paid off.

This 5-round group was shot using bog-standard 55 grain Federal American Eagle .223 Remington ammunition, also known as “the cheap stuff.” But even though the ammo wasn’t the greatest, the rifle performed remarkably well. The horizontal dispersion of the group was about 1/2 inch center to center, and vertically the group was about 1 inch center to center. I went back and re-tested with some nice Winchester 55 grain ammunition and started getting bored with the 1/2 MoA groups I was getting with the rifle.

There is a small caveat: the gun didn’t like 77 grain ammunition for some reason. I think that the twist rate might not have been ideal for the heavier rounds, and I couldn’t get a good group with even match grade Federal Premium ammunition in that weight.

Mine is more accurate than I am and an added bonus I found was that the recoil ( I know, I know 223/556 has no recoil) impulse is lighter and the muzzle rise is nill.
Buy with confidence, you will love it !!!!

For those that own a MK1 Mod 1, what kind of groups are you getting at 100 with heavier 5.56 (69g and up)?

I have some hornady 69gr hpbt loaded, i will have to go shoot them next weekend and see if i can get a decent group. The only issue would be me, not the rifle. I dont go to the range much. More of a blm and forestry type guy, but i will give it a shot

Sounds good.  Any groups you find time to contribute would be appreciated.

I posted this a while ago.  It's a handload, but I didn't work it and though only 3, it's fine.  These guns aren't rocket science, I'm sure someone can find a crap load, but really a 1/8 twist barrel out of an AR is not really that hard to get to shoot well.
