I'm new to AR rifles and recently built one. I'd like to install an AA piston kit on my Delton A3 16" midlength heavy barrel upper.
I have issues with using a low profile kit and long free float handguard (10-13 inches) and how you would maintain and/or adjust gas block and piston with it being inset so far in? |
| I built an 18" SASS and went to Midway Industries for my AA piston Kit furniture, also stuck an AA on my Rock River M-4 carbine same place for the hardware. Neither one has it's gas block closed in, check there rails and make sure it specifies piston drive mechanism and you should find one that fits. It does have to come apart for cleaning or adjustment depending on some ammo that won't let it cycle, and if you go to a suppressor you may not want it to cycle so you will need to shut it off. In short you have to have access to turn it and clean it. They do carbon up. Hope this helps. I did look at other rail systems but MI for me, seemed to have the best one. |
