Just took it out for the first time. Worked pretty well, with two exceptions. I had a couple of times that I thought I hade a dead trigger, with the hammer forward. But apparently the trigger was not getting pushed forward enough to set the sear or something. I was able to push it forward with my finger and then it would function normally. Seems to be a weak spring or something.
Secondly, one of the pins under the gas block (or whatever that is on a piston gun) is now loose. Doesn't come all the way out but is loose. Might need replaced. Other than that, it ran like a beast. I put a Bushnell holo sight on it and sighted that in. Seems to be consistent. I'll have to use an actual scope for true accuracy tests. |
| As above for customer service. If you don't want to wait, and have the time and means, take it all apart and give the lower a good cleaning. Also try tapping out all the pins and rolling them on a pane of glass or something that will tell you if they are slightly bent. Reassembly might put all the geomety back in the proper relationships. Also double check all your springs. Are any of the legs bent? Were any of the legs stuck in/under something else (not counting the normal, correct way of assembly)? |
| The trigger spring is easy to check. Is it properly installed? If you don't know, leave it to Ruger to fix. It may need replacement. If it were just the trigger spring, I wouldn't bother Ruger and just replace it myself. The pin on the front backing out is probably the wrong-sized pin and should be replaced. |
